Summary
There is a place where letters go to die. A world of unfulfilled potential where messages do not reach those for whom they were intended. Join PL115 as we explore the dreams, hopes and wishes people send out into the universe in the fervent hope of a response.
In Dead Letter Office, Performance Lab 115 teams up with Meiyin Wang of theatrewagon to investigate the genesis of hope and the tenuous nature of human connection through the metaphor of the Dead Letter.
Part theatre, part dance, part sound laboratory, and constructed using found material from letters, poetry, radio, fiction and science, the ensemble fabricates a liminal world where hope lies in wait.
Dead Letter Office has been developed through PL115's receipt of the 2007 chashama/NEA Performance Development Award and HERE Art Center's Supported Artist Grant.
