THE VERGE at the Ontological Incubator

PL115 is pleased to announce our inclusion in the Fall 2009 Ontological Incubator!

Teaming up with director Alice Reagan (Caucasian Chalk Circle, A Small Hole), PL115 will mount deconstruction of Susan Glaspell’s proto-Feminist play, The Verge.

The Verge will perform November 5-21, Tue, Thu-Sat @ 8PM.

Visit www.ontological.com for tickets.

And join us on September 12th at 9PM for the Ontological Incubator Benefit.  This year’s theme is ‘Back To School Party’ — which means if you bring a childhood picture of yourself, it’s only $5.

The Ontological Theater is located at:
131 E. 10th St at 2nd Ave

Hope to see you there!

More Reviews for Chalk Circle

“The production has such zing and visual cohesion…we never forget Reagan’s or the ensemble’s thrilling potential: Not even two hours of Brecht could alienate us from them.”

- Helen Shaw, Time Out New York

“Tickets to Performance Lab 115’s production of Caucasian Chalk Circle are only $15, but the show would be worth seeing at five times that price. The cast is stellar, the scenery and costumes strikingly inventive and the performance has a level of energy to which all plays should aspire.”

- Willow Belden, Queens Chronicle

“PL115 does an admirable job of keeping this lumbering fairy tale moving forward with excellent staging that gives room to the tender moments and lungs to the spectacle of cruelty that coexist in Brecht’s alternate reality.”

- Vladic Ravich, Queens Tribune

Caucasian Chalk Circle is in its final week  and tickets are selling fast, so be sure to get your tickets online.

We’re very proud of this bold new piece of theatre and we’d hate for you to miss your chance to see it!

Chalk Circle plays through July 11, Wed-Sat @ 8PM at The Chocolate Factory.

- Alexis Soloski, The Village Voice

“Provocative … there’s not a dull spot in the two-hour evening”

- Deirdre Donovan, CurtainUp

See Waterwell’s #9

If you came to our Gala this year, you’ve already seen these guys perform.  And if you haven’t, you should know that we think they’re awesome.  We’ve been big fans of theirs since we saw The Persians a few years ago.

All of the info about their newest show, #9, is below.  Check it out!

FROM THE AWARD WINNING CREATORS OF
THE|KING|OPERETTA COMES #9!

ww9-logo-200_modWaterwell is proud to announce its newest creation, #9, starting on Jun 5 at 59E59.

Fusing harsh beats and bleak electronics with surging pop and sunny balladry, #9 is a swirling new music theatre piece about technology, identity and relationships.

As innovations allow us to give and get information, share opinions and express our feelings in ways that were unimaginable even a few years ago, #9 confronts the question: how are the tools we create shaping the contours of our experience – transforming how we think and act?

The results are exhilarating, frightening and unpredictable.

Performance Dates:
June 5, 2009 – June 28, 2009
Tues & Sun @ 7:30pm
Wed – Sat @ 8:30pm
Sun @ 3:30pm

Great Reviews for Artifacts of Consequence

Artifacts of Consequence has been generating a good amount of buzz in the press over the past week.  Check out what the critics are saying:

“Deliriously imaginitive and talkent-rich … make no mistake: this show is as much pulp fiction as theater of ideas”

Jason Zinoman, The New York Times. Read more…

Artifacts of Consequence is an important play that’s a joy to watch.”

Aaron Riccio, ‘kül. Read more…

“Halfnight’s ability to inspire audiences…simultaneously impresses and fascinates. The palpable tension in Kristjan Thor’s staging…makes the production continually engrossing.”
